Thread: Eliza's diary
I stepped back as one of the girls pointed her gun at me. Apparently, the flow of the battle was something like this at this point of time. Lyzerg was stuck in the truck trying to pull himself out while the girl that landed him in that situation in the first place was walking towards him. Josh was shooting like a maniac, cornering one of the girls that he was fighting against, giving her no chance at all to counterattack. Randal was fighting with a girl who could somehow make metal objects attack him by shooting it at him from all directions.
Neal and I were kinda in a struggle. Neal's ability was utterly useless and he was fighting against a girl who could negate forces. Me? I was fighting a person who could manipulate electricity. Not a fair fight you would agree.
I hid behind a barrel before a blast of electric nearly made a hole at where I was standing a while ago. The girl did a somersault over the barrel, landing right in front of me. She turned intending to give me another blast of electricity, but I flung my hand upwards, sending her a few feet up into the air before letting her crash onto the ground. I took the chance to find another hiding place as she held her head or well her helmet, trying to get herself up. I was hiding in the guard post. It was so easy to escape now, I just had to walk right past the gates. But of course, I'd be injured badly first.
Somehow without knowing how, I felt some kind of force coming from behind my back. It felt dangerous and I knew I had to come out from where I was hiding. I jumped out as quick as I could. Soon after the guard post exploded with a crackling sound. Electricity was coursing through whatever it had just decimated. I was shocked, I knew that I had to get out of that place. But I didn't why I suddenly knew.
Suddenly a girl dropped from the sky creating a cratered surface with her body. She groaned in agony as she held her ribs. Her helmet had a huge crack in it, her visor had shattered. I could see a rather young girl around the age of 12. They even had small kids in the army. I was shocked. "ELIZA, DON'T DREAM." Lyzerg called out as he stuck out his palm while running to me.
I was flung aside before electricity flashed past me once again. Lyzerg had used my ability on me to push me aside. I had to thank him and myself for that. He stopped infront of the electric manipulator and gave her a punch on her helmet. His punch had a humongous amount of force, it nearly sent her flying, but he pulled her back before giving her a punch in the side. A loud cracking sound was heard as the girl screamed. "Lyzerg! What did you do?" I shouted at him.
"Nothing, I just gave her a punch, with her friend's superhuman strength."
So that's how the girl pushed Lyzerg into the side of the truck. But for Lyzerg to discover and utilize her power in such a short amount of time was incredible.
"I feel great! With this superhuman strength I can even run without feeling tired!" He said haughtily.
The fight was over just like that. It was that quick and I didn't do much, that made me feel pretty useless. Don't feel that way Eliza! Lyzerg told me. He helped me up as Neal walked over, a little out of breath. Apparently his battle seemed to be rather tiring for him. "No, I don't exercise much thats why." He answered me.
Josh walked over as he threw his rifles onto the ground. His opponent had not even managed to even touch him but knelt on the ground instead. I swore I saw tears as she put on her helmet again, Josh must have made her cry somehow. Even managing to take off her helmet. I was in awe. Randal finished his battle unscathed too, but I wasn't really in awe. He had to burn nearly everything around him.
"I think its about time we left this rotten place." Neal said as he was nearly out of breath.
"Yeah, about time. Let's go team." Josh said with a smile on his face.

Escape
Thread: Eliza's diary
It was past midnight. I didn't quite get why Josh picked midnight to escape from the capital. At night, the guards doubled, and security is tighter than ever. I crept down to the side of the truck as I turned to Neal looking for an explanation.
Maybe he finds it much more meaningful and thrilling?
Bullshit. He must have some other logical explanation. From what I see Josh wasn't that kind of an irrational person. Josh turned and began to brief us in a hushed tone. "Reason why I picked the night is that we would be less visible, unless they have night efficient equipment. If they do, it's a mislook on my part, but they will definitely be tired and lazy. It's night after all." He assured us all.
Not much of assurance to me. Lyzerg stood up and told all of us. I'll start. He stepped from behind the truck with his hands in his pockets, probably to hide his excitement of using Neal's ability. The guards turned and pointed their guns at him. "Hey you, put your hands-" They stopped and Lyzerg motioned for us to come out of our hiding place.
"Here you go, guns and the cards for the gate and that truck." The guard said as he pointed to the truck which we were hiding behind a moment ago. "Uniforms too." Lyzerg said as he took four uniforms and handed them to the guys. "I could get used to this power." Lyzerg smirked.
"Where's my uniform?" I asked.
"Oh, they don't have one for girls." Lyzerg answered.
"What! Against girls are we now?"
"No, it's just that the girls uniforms are only available inside. The girls are usually in the special op's team." Lyzerg said defending himself.
We all walked towards the truck, but Neal didn't move. "You're too soft Ezzabell. You should finish them. Like this." As he said that he turned around and walked towards us. The guards had died, without any wounds.
"Neal, thats just cruel." Lyzerg said as he entered the back of the truck and sat down. "And why do Randal and Josh get to sit in front?"
"Randal's the only one who can drive properly and Josh gives him the directions." I replied.
I turned and caught Neal glancing in my direction before staring at Lyzerg.
"Oh, how did you finish them off Neal?" I asked.
"Evolved abilities I guess?" He answered. "After what Mell told me, I figured I have to get better, otherwise I can never beat someone like him."
"And what is your evolved ability?" Lyzerg asked.
"I won't tell you. You'd copy that too."
"Oh man, its not like I can copy it permantly."
"You might? As an evolution of your abilities." Neal said.
"But you haven't answered me. I asked you the question!" I said.
I just turned them into a comatose state. I got to learn about the brain before I can do any manupilating on it. So learning more about it, I can even cause real death the next time.
Neal was good at using his ability. Even while he was explaning it to me, he looked in another direction acting as though he wasn't doing anything. That was cool. The truck jerked.
A guard poked his head through the window. "What's your business 'ere?" The guard was silent for awhile before giving another card to Randal. "ere's a card for the next stop. You better be careful 'ough, the special op's team and some mercs are on duty at the immigration checkpoint. Even guards like us can be suspected of being spies or 'ose intruders."
Randal replied. "Yeah."
"Wanna cup o' coffee before you leave?" The guard asked all of us.
"Yeah, then make that five then." Josh asked as he smiled.
"-aight then." He said as he lifted his elbow of the door before coming back with 5 cans of coffee.
"ere you go." He said as he nodded his head.
We drove off scot free yet again. "I see, using your ability is rather easy. Just make those guards your good friends and everythings easy." Lyzerg said. It was another long drive again before we finally stopped at the immigrations checkpoint. Two girls in tight fitted black suits and helmets stood infront of the truck, both holding guns in their hands. "The special op's team. Get ready." Josh said as he stepped out with two rifles. Josh taught you how to fight with your ability right? Neal asked. Yeah he did. I answered.
We all stepped out and placed our hands against the truck as they searched us. "Oh man, this must be my lucky day with two girls searching me." Lyzerg said as he let them search him.
"Keep your mouth shut you dirty intruder." One of the girls said. I couldn't tell whether or not she was angry with that helmet covering her face.
"Your ability is manipulating minds too?" Lyzerg asked in shocked.
"No, its just that these helmets don't let you mess our minds." The girl said as she placed her pistol in her holder.
Suddenly there was a crunching sound as Lyzerg got pushed into it. The truck now had his shape. "...this, is my power." The girl said as she lifted the truck, throwing it a few metres away, with Lyzerg stuck to its side. The other girl threw a punch at Neal, but he dodged. "Eliza, I don't just read minds. I fight too." Neal said. Three more girls appeared as they said in unison.
"We can't let you go past these walls that lead out of the capital. You all will die here."

The bright red hair
Thread: Neal's Diary
I opened my eyes, voices were ringing in my head. "Could you all please stop talking?" I groaned.
"We aren't." A girl's voice answered.
I held my head as I sat up. The last thing I remember was Mell thrashing me and Randal and Mell's groan. My head was throbbing hard. "Where did Mell go?"
"He literally disappeared after Josh punched him." Eliza answered me.
"How did you even manage to punch him josh?" I asked.
"Well, I can't say. Let's just say, I'm really strong." Josh smiled.
"Yeah physically you are. But you aren't as strong as someone who has superhuman strength!"\
"Oh I don't know. We'll see when the time comes."
My vision was finally clear again and I could see where I was. In the attic of our base. "I never knew we had a bed this comfy?" I said. "You asked for it, remember loser?" Randal scoffed as he sat on the floor drinking. I could hear someone walking up the stairs, I tried to read who it was but there was a interference. A guy with bright red hair appeared. "Oh dear, am I intruding?"
"No no, you came at the right time." Josh answered. "Neal, meet your new team mate."
"Hello, I'm Lyzerg, Lyzerg Ezzabell." The guy smiled.
He's cute. I could hear Eliza think.
"Yeah. I see. Powers are copying the abilities of other." I said.
"Oh so you can read minds." Lyzerg said. I closed my eyes and lay on the bed, I didn't want someone like him to join. Another hindrance.
Yeah, I'm a hindrance cause I can't be read? Well the easiest to read and manupilate here is Eliza right? Lyzerg said to me.
You sure are capable of adapting real quickly. I replied.
"So the extent of your abilities right now are to copy people's ability when you know of it, and it only when you're around them you can use the abilities." Josh said.
"Why right now?" Lyzerg asked.
"I read through the files which I have gotten with Eliza. It seems our abilities aren't just limited to what we have now. It can evolve."
"Yeah, like what Mell said to me. I'm weak because I'm too lazy to evolve my abilities."
"So true Neal." Eliza said.
"Oh shut up." I rebutted.
"Either way. The higher ups in the facility have somehow realized that their base had been infiltrated and are coming after us. They even know who we are." Josh said worriedly.
"The people who can escape easily, would be Eliza and Lyzerg. But that was if that Mell wasn't here." I said.
"Well not to worry, if I'm around, he can't stop you." Josh reassured me. "We can all escape easily."

The mysterious man
Thread: Neal's diary
I turned to my left and then right. Two ways to go, now not being able to read anybody's mind to find out which is the right way is quite horrible. Randal stepped in front of me and turned to the right, and he pointed to the left, staring me as though it was where he wanted me to go. Well at least he made the choice for me. I don't like to think to much.
The passageway was dull and boring. Metal walls on both my sides for as long as I walked. A guard was walking my way, I waved and he waved back. Another guard came over with a box of donuts and handed me one. Everything was going too well, another guard passed me a access card. I took the lift down to one of the basements. There wasn't a single mind to read, only a long passage with a huge door. I swiped the card and the door opened, immediately a whole bunch of soldiers pointed electromagnetic spears and pistols at me.
"Put your hands in the air!" One guard shouted as he stepped forward.
"You're the captain of this squad?" I said.
"How'd you know?" The captain demanded an answer from me.
A soldier dropped unto the floor with blood flowing from his head. "You! new recruit! Why did you shoot him?"
"Simple, I made him." I smiled.
In a matter of minutes, the whole squad was killed. And the new recruit killed himself too, it wasn't my fault, I didn't do anything anyway. I was in a warehouse of sorts, huge machines and pipes placed all over the place. I walked up a flight of metal steps to a metal walk way. I walked towards the control room when a voice spoke to me.
"Using your powers again?" It was a very thin man in a black tuxedo with a black hat and a black tie. "All black? Is that a new dress code or something?" I could only see the man's smile as he pushed his hat forward to cover his eyes.
"You want to see my face? Then you should remove that hood first."
"Nah, no thanks. Why not read my mind?" I asked.
"What makes you think I can?"
"You're the guy that enters my dreams. Of course you can."
"Well I could be a dream weaver."
"Yeah if that was your ability, I'm a girl."
"Well aren't you one?" He chuckled.
I entered his mind. I had to make him kill himself, this man pissed me off. But I couldn't I was unable to do anything, I felt as though a hand pushed me out of his mind. I felt a hand then on my neck. "Choking me?" I asked.
"No, I'm just gonna throw you aside, Literally." As soon as he said that I felt myself flung towards the side. My hand met the wall and a cunching sound was heard as I fell. Shit, my hand. Hurts like hell. "You can't defeat me with those simple mind tricks of yours as long as you don't evolve it further. You are lazy by nature, that's what makes you weak." He said as he stood above me.
Then I saw his face. He had black wavy shoulder length hair and his fringe was pushed to the back. His stare was piercing. Cold green eyes. A ball of fire hurled towards the man but was stopped, right before it touched him.
"Gee, it's getting hot." He said as the fire ball vanished.
"Neal, we gotta go." It was Randal.
"Ah. Well a real strong opponent. I feel like I should introduce myself." The man said as he took a bow.
"Freelance odd job man, Mell Thrift de Olthzaar. Nice to meet you." He said as he raised his hat above his head and place it back again. Randal grunted.
Randal started running towards Mell and gave him a punch of fire. Mell turned his body, dodging the attack by an inch only retaliating by placing his palm against Randal's stomach. Randal jerked before kneeling on the floor coughing out blood. "My personal favourite, shockwave manipulation. Perfect for hand to hand combat." Randal lunged at his legs causing Mell to lose balance. "Tch, and when you don't want them close to you. I use my basic, telekenesis." He swung his hand forward and Randal flew backwards hitting against the railing before falling on the floor.
"You mother-" I began.
He raised his hand and I was choking. "Telekenesis?" I gapsed for air. My energy was slowly draining away, it was definitely his doing. He let go of his telekentic hold on my neck and turned to Randal. "Absorbing of energy, a rather useless power though." Mell said. "...The energy has to go somewhere but not me. So instead of giving it to him, I'll give it back to you." Suddenly all my energy had returned to me. He did it again, this time absorbing more and returning it with a great force. It was excruciating when the energy forced its way back.
"Oh just a way of torture." He laughed.
My mind was going blank. My eyes were closing, I could only hear the sound of a punch and the groaning of Mell before hearing Eliza's voice.
"NEAL, are you alright!?" Eliza asked. I blacked out.

The task and an encounter
Thread: Eliza's diary
We stood back to back against the shiny white walls of the captial's research facility. Josh held two pistols in each hand. The right against his cheek, pointing upwards, the left against his thigh, facing downwards. Neal wore his usual hooded jacket and jeans. Randal wore something unusual though. A tight fitted leather jacket and pants. I turned to Neal, Wouldn't wearing jeans would make it much more difficult to run during the escape phase of the plan? You see, Neal's ability comes in handy when you want to talk to him or another person. You just make your thought 'loud' and Neal will somehow pick it up and reply you.
Do I have a need to run? He smiled. I rolled my eyes and turned to Josh's direction. "So Eliza, just like we practiced yesterday. Are you ready for this?" I nodded my head. Neal and Randal nodded their head too. I focused hard as I held out both of my hands towards Josh. The plan was to levitate the four of us over the wall of the facility. I tried lifting Neal up, he levitated a little, but touched the ground again. "Come on Eliza, you can do it." Josh encouraged me. I shut my eyes and concentrated harder, but I lost it the moment I heard a loud thud on the ground. When I opened my eyes, Neal was on the ground rubbing his back.
Are you even ready for this dumbass? He shouted in my mind. "Sorry." I said as I pulled down the front of my cap, hoping that it would somehow hide my embarrassment. Josh placed his hand on my shoulder, smiled and said, "Try again." I suddenly felt a surge of energy flowing through my body. I felt better than I ever did! I can do this.
As I crawled through the ventilation tunnel, Neal's last few words kept ringing in my head before we had split up. When we get back, start training your abilities! Maybe I really should learn how to use these powers of mine. Josh tapped my shoulder as he crawled beside me. "We should drop here, this is most probably the place we're looking for." He whispered. We pulled out the metal grille above the room and jumped down. The room smelt horrible, like at the hospital where there were sick people all about.
The room that we were in was rather empty, only a desk with a computer, a shelf and a door leading to another room. Josh pointed at the door with his gun and signalled me to go in only after he had gone in. The door slid open and he crept in. The door slid close and there was silence. A few moments later, "Bloody hell! Eliza come in quick!" I rushed into the other room.
It was a very wide and long room, to my left and right were many cells. Each cell had a bed, sink, a mirror and a toilet. The cells were not made out of metal bars like those in normal prisons, but were seperated by a thick metal wall between them and had a kind of glass like material that was keeping the cell closed. There was a standing control panel at the side of each cell and right above it had holographic descriptions. I read the nearest one to me.
ID: 005895
Name: Freight Falkner.
Age: Presumbly 27.
Gender: Male.
Ability: Flight.
Threat: None detected.
Mental state: Normal.
Date caught: 107 days 15hours 23minutes before current time.
In it was a dishevelled blonde haired man who had a device strapped to his feet. As I passed each cell, I realized every single person in it had a device strapped to his or her feet. I turned to Josh. He looked at me and shook his head. "You're thinking of freeing them right? Well don't."
"Why not?"
"Because, it isn't the task that I want you to do and if we input a wrong code, we could alert security. And when they get us, we'll be like them." Josh said as he randomly pointed to one of the prisoners.
"But they could be mistreated-" I began to say but was interrupted by a person banging against the glass door.
"Hey girl! Do me a favour would you?" It was a man trapped in the same cell as the rest. But he stood out among the rest. He didn't look untidy and infact well kept, he had bright red hair and a rather tall and skinny body. Not as tall as Josh though. I walked over and read his description.
ID: 008527
Name: Lyzerg Ezzabell
Age: Presumbly 19.
Gender: Male.
Ability: -
Threat: A major threat. Even though abilities have not been discovered from subject ID:008527, he is wild and aggresive to all personnel especially higher ranks officials.
Advised to be taken: Never open up cell, unless asleep or you are a cleaner.
Mental State: Mad.
Date caught: 1day 12hours 47minutes before current time.
That was absolutely ridiculous. Especially the threat part, I couldn't help myself from laughing. Josh turned to see what the commotion was about and read the description. "Is this a joke?" He asked.
"No it isn't you retard. I just bit one of those official's finger when they caught me that's all, and they think I'm mad. I mean when you're caught you would want to defend yourself right?"
"Then why not use your ability?" I asked.
"Well that's why I asked you for a favour miss!"
"We are not freeing him!" Josh raised his voice.
"You don't have too. Just tell me the abilities of the people on my right and left."
"Oh? Hold on." I took a few steps left and right and faced him again.
"Umm they are, phasing and generation of force fields."
The boy who was presumbly Lyzerg (from the description) jumped up and down and shouted, "Oh thanks, it's really my lucky day! Thank you girl!" He stepped in front of the glass door as he sniggered and pushed himself through. "What!?" Josh exclaimed. "If you had that ability all along why didn't you escape?"
"I don't know?" He smiled. "What's your name and ability girl?"
"You can't read minds right?" I had to be wary.
"If I did I wouldn't need to ask!" Lyzerg said as he smacked his forehead, but it went through. "That felt weird." He said.
"Uhh, my name is Eliza, ability to levitate things I guess?"
"Sweet." He said as he made the device go through his foot.
"Alright I'll repay your favour one day."
"Why not now by telling us what exactly is your power?" Josh asked.
"Not you, her. You didn't help me." Lyzerg said as he pointed a finger and stuck out his tongue at him.
"Why you!" Josh shouted.
"Well I want to know too."
"The ability to copy people's ability. And I can use them for as long as I am around them."
"We have got to leave now. Time's almost up, I got what we need." Josh said as he waved a file at me.
"Eliza! See you again if fate allows it." Lyzerg said as he waved to me. I levitated Josh and myself up into the ventilation shaft once again and we made our escape.

The possibilities
Neal's Diary
(This is Neal's diary, everything is in his point of view now. Not Eliza's. Might be confusing to you but bear with it. It's cooler this way (: so I = Neal.
For Neal's part of the story, the words in italics are people's thoughts. Neal's diary is rather sophisticated, its more of information than a diary entry, it doesn't actually relate to the main story but it does give you some hint about whats going to happen in the story.)
"Come on Eliza, I'm sure you have a lot of unanswered questions in your head that even I can't answer." I smiled.
"I guess I could." Eliza replied without hesitation. "But provided that HE stops looking into my head."
"Agreed." Josh said as he smacked my head with one hand and the other stretched out to offer Eliza a handshake. She stood up and took it.
This is what I had been searching for and it appeared to me so quickly. Is it fate?
"Of course." I said, I just read her mind. It was clearly opened!
"Stop that." And she smacked me.
"Alright, I'll brief Eliza on what are going to do while you two can just do some stuff on your own." Josh said. I pulled my hood over as I walked out of the empty cellar.
(Randal's thoughts)
Neal, I know you're reading my mind now. You better don't follow me to where I'm going or I'll throw ball of fire up your arse. You got that?
I turned back and shrugged. I don't care what he thinks, I'll just do whatever I want. My daily routine is just to play around with the minds of people in this part of the city. I know my own ability best. I read the minds of people, no to be more exact, I enter their minds. I read their thoughts, I change their thoughts and I can even put in some of my own thoughts. It's like the minds of 95 percent of the people in this world are easy to enter. The remaining 5 percent are just a pain in the ass, so I don't bother to even try entering their minds. People like Josh and Randal. Usually it's cause their born with a natural mental wall in their minds or they just have a higher trained mental state which is able to interfere with my medling.
I climbed up onto the roof of our base and sat at the edge. Looking down at all of the people busy with their own lives. Most of them lead monotonous lives, seldom do I find people who have deep secrets hidden. I awoke 5 years ago with this ability and Josh asked me to team up with him about just 3 years ago. Josh has the gift of the gab to make people just want to listen to him and I, find these people to listen to him. I've learned many things with this ability than the poeple with other abilities. Like for instance, I know all us humans have advanced in numerous ways.
Our bodies become stronger, physically and mentally. Some become smarter, some become agile, even the old folks can move like the young people and they don't look so old anymore. In fact most of them look like their in their mid fourties. But then there are the minority, people like me and Josh, who have an ability much greater than the others. Josh once told me that my ability was one of the greatest he could ever imagine, but it was also the most sought after. So this is how I live my daily life. Entering people's minds, getting what I need and want, whenever I want. I wouldn't call it 'stealing', its making them give me the things I ask for.
What is that boy doing up on the roof?
People like this irritate me, so I enter their minds and I make them go away or do something that amuses me. Like fighting with each other or making them forget what they had been planning to do. But once in a while I'd fall asleep and someone so mysterious seems to enter my mind and I'd talk with him. It usually start with him saying,
"Still reading people's minds Neal?"
"So what if I am? How do you enter my mind and even mask your face in my own mind? My mind is my own, I'm supposed to be able to imagine anything I want in my own mind and yet you-"
"I'm not in your mind but my own and I'm just making a telepathic connection with you. So of course I can mask my own face."
"Why not show me who's under that mask?"
"I don't see a need too. I'm not on very good terms with Josh."
"So you know Josh?"
"You could say so."
"So do you have the same ability as I have? Josh told me it's very sedom that someone would have the same ability as someone else."
"In a way I do have the same ability as you. Infact, I have the same ability as everyone else."
"You steal their abilities?"
"I won't answer that."
"You copy them permanantly?"
"Neither will I answer that."
"Then what do you do?"
"I'm not oblige to tell you anything, but of course, if one day you do manage to find out who I am, I'll tell you what my abilities are. But I know you can't."
Then there will always be long silence before he waves goodbye and stops this 'telepathic' connection. But I never tell Josh about him, this mysterious man seems to have a deep hatred for Josh, I can feel it even without using my ability.

People like me
Thread: Eliza's diary
The capital was totally different from the warehouse. The air felt cleaner, the roads and pavements were free of litter and junk. The people dressed more smartly and walked around with a sense of poise. Two girls passed me and sniggered, it caused a sudden surge of my memories to come back. Before my deep sleep, something similar to this had happened. I knew it had something to do with the way I looked. So I decided to take a look in one of the nearby shops.
"Look at this dress, it really is pretty!" A young girl told her mother.
"Yeah it definately is, but it's too pricey!" The mother replied.
That was when I remembered. I didn't have much money with me, I couldn't possibly afford something as beautiful as that.
"Yes you can."
I placed my hand over my mouth as I turned.
"Shocked?" I nodded my head. It was a boy roughly about my age.
"What's you name?" He asked. Even though my memories weren't completely restored I knew I should never talk to strangers.
"Eliza? That's a real sweet name." He said as he smiled.
"How did you know?!" I replied stunned.
"How old are you?" He asked once more without answering my question.
"Why should I tell you?"
"Seventeen, I see..." And he nodded his head while scratching his head.
"Then, do you want that dress? It would definately look good on you." He smiled once more as he pointed to that dress.
Even though I didn't know who he was, he had a charming smile. A smile sweet enough to melt a girl's heart. Yes, he was that good looking. "I'm good looking aren't I?" He smiled once again. I took a step back embarrassed. How did he know I was thinking that? It's as though he could read my mind!
"Oh yeah, I can do that." He took a step forward, whispering into my ear as he pulled his hood over his head. "Follow me." He said as he took the dress to the counter. He placed the dress on the counter as he looked at the cashier.
"How may I help you sir?" The cashier asked. No reply, the boy just kept looking in the cashier's direction. He seemed as though he was looking at the cashier but at a loss for words. "Excuse me sir? Are you going to buy the-" The cashier stopped her sentence halfway and nodded her head as she scanned the dress. "Thank you for shopping at Stellar's Boutique, please come again." She said with a smile. He took the bag containing the dress and left the shop. "Hey, you coming out or what?"
I hurriedly left the shop. "You! What you just did was tantamount to stealing!"
He smirked as he said, "No. It's just using my ability well. You should put yours to good use too." He handed me the bag and turned to walk away. "Here, my gift to you."
"Ability? Wait a moment! You seem to know quite a bit about these special abilities. Please tell me all about it!" I pleaded. He turned and pulled on my arm. "Follow me then."
He entered a empty house, it smelled musty. Apparently, It didn't seem like anyone was living there. He opened up a door leading to the house's cellar.
"Hey Josh, I brought Eliza. She's a hottie to boot!" He hollered.
I walked down the creaking steps, the cellar smelled worse than the house. A musty smelled mixed with the scent of wine. As soon as my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I could make out a rectangular shaped table with five chairs tucked in, and one was taken. The man sitting down spoke. "So you're Eliza? Pardon Neal here. he must have scared you with his mind reading antics. I'm Josh. Oh and Randal, could you light the place up?"
Neal smiled at me once more as he took a seat and motioned me to sit with him. The candles lit up, and Randal took a seat. The three men looked awfully different from each other. Neal was young but dressed sloppily, Josh dressed smartly making himself look very rich and presentable and Randal just looked rather aged and sloppy. "She's just discovered her ability." Neal said.
"How did you know? Did you read my mind again?"
"I don't need to, it's written all over your face. I don't know a thing, enlighten me." He sniggered.
"Now stop it Neal. Could you tell what your powers are?" Josh asked.
"I don't really know... The ability to make things levitate I suppose?"
"Knew that." Neal smirked. Randal grunted as he opened his hand and swung it as though he was throwing a ball. I gasped and Neal bent down as a fireball flew over him dissipating instantaneously as it hit the wall.
"That's dangerous, thank God I read your mind before that happened."
"Now you two stop it. Eliza I know this is sudden, but how would you like to help us? To find the answers we are all looking for."
"Come on Eliza, I'm sure you have a lot of unanswered questions in your head that even I can't answer." Neal smiled.
"I guess I could." I replied without hesitation, this was what I was looking for. "But provided that HE stops looking into my head."
"Agreed." Josh said as he smacked Neal's head with one hand and the other stretched out to offer me a handshake. I stood up and took it. This is what I had been searching for and it appeared to me so quickly. Is it fate?
"Of course."
"Stop that." And I smacked him.

My Evolution
The beginning of the end
Eliza's diary
(FYI: This is Eliza's part of the story. The story will be told in many different point of views till they merge together.)
Gramps had been with me since we awoke from our deep sleep. No, I can't even remember when or how I started sleeping. My memories from before my deep sleep are slowly coming back. What I can remember was that before the deep sleep everyone was in a panic. Screaming, "I don't want to die.", "How are we supposed to survive this?" were most of the things the people said at that time. Right now, I really am still confused about everything, but I am very sure about two things, that I was at the age of seventeen and I did not have this ability before the deep sleep.
I sat on the pile of pipes staring at the fallen buildings and piles of debris. What was this world like before all the disasters striked? I still can't remember. Now staring at my hand, one of the cans from my lunch with Gramps was levitating slightly above it. I know this isn't normal, I wasn't like this before.
"Hey Eliza! Get down here! The news just came in!" Gramps shouted. I slid down the pipes to meet up with him.
"Now would you take a look at this?" He said as he showed me the news device. A holographic projection popped out with a 'beep'. "See here, right now they have a government, probably those previous politicians who survived. They say that we humans have evolved and anyone who experienced anything unusual has to go and report to them!"
I stepped back shocked. "Gramps, what do you think they would do to the people who have experienced 'unusual' things?" He turned to me and placed his hands on my shoulder looking very worried. "Don't tell me you have experienced these things?"
I assured him that I didn't but I didn't get an answer. The fact that Gramps was looking worried gave me an impression that what the government would do would not be a pretty sight. A part of me wanted to stay where I was, another part of me wanted to venture out into the world to discover why I had this ability and even perhaps what were the limits of it.
Night approached. I couldn't sleep, I had to go somewhere. I crept out of the warehouse, trying not to make a sound. I mean it was quite difficult for me, because I admit, I am a clumsy person. In the end, I did make a sound, a loud gasp in surprise. I was walking in the air! I closed the door behind me and tried to get myself back onto the ground. It was a terrible struggle, but I managed to do it just before the driver on the capital bus (the bus that heads for the capital, it floats, just like me!) caught sight of me floating.
The door swung open and the driver asked, "Headed for the capital, miss?" I nodded my head and took the seat nearest to the exit. I couldn't wait to get to the capital. I had a feeling that someone there could tell me the reason why I had what I had.

Introduction
The beginning of the end.
“Hey I think I can start up this junk!”
A gruff sounding man yelled across the warehouse filled with junk. A head popped out of a pile of junk and shouted back, “I’m coming over, don’t do anything yet!”
A small built person clambered across heaps of junk before reaching the gruff sounding man. The man pulled on a crank to get the machinery started. The sound of a car starting could be heard, “Stand back Eliza.” The man addressed the smaller built person. The machine gave a choking noise before letting out black smoke.
“Shit, this is not going to work.” The man grumbled as he kicked the machine making it give out another choking sound. “What a lousy crap ass of a thing.” He said as he grumbled more.
“Well, it’s a lawnmower so it doesn’t really matter. There ain’t any grass to cut here either. It’s just junk, junk, debris and more junk around these parts.” Eliza said as she pulled off her cap revealing a fairly pretty face.
“You know Eliza, you should doll up sometimes. You really are a pretty girl you know?”
“Stop the flattering gramps. Why should I even doll up here? These parts here are so rural. I’ll just get dirtied with all these grease and grime again anyway.”
“That’s why I keep telling you to go to the capital, everyone’s leading a much better life there than here.” Eliza just shook her head as the two of them stepped out of the warehouse.
They climbed onto a pile of large steel pipes and prepared their lunch. “Funny don’t you think? There isn’t any time at all on earth now and we still know when we should have our lunch.” Gramps said as he chuckled pulling out cans of food.
“I guess it’s just a way of life?” Eliza smiled. “What we should thank for, is our technology. Thanks to that our canned food just can’t expire.”
“That is something to be thankful about.” Gramps chuckled once more.

Prologue
During the year 2044, disaster had struck the earth. It started with global warming, soon came disaster after disaster. Earthquakes, tsunamis, wars, internal strife, any possible scenario’s you thought of, it happened. During that year, the earth was on the verge of destruction. No human dared or even wanted to help each other. Everyone was screaming for their own survival. Loss of human life was wide spread. It was during the year 2046, where one last disaster would befall onto the earth which would end everything. Space debris and meteors had crashed into the earth causing everything to not burn, but to freeze instead.
Apparently, many had survived due to the advanced technology that humans had created. The disasters had led the humans to evolution, in more ways than one. Perhaps someone had blessed the humans; at least half of what the world was before remained intact. But the human’s greed had taken over them again. There were scarce resources and they had begun fighting over them yet again. With the evolution of humans, many thought that everything would change for the better, but wars still raged on and the victims were the poor and powerless once again…
