Thread: Eliza's diary
We had left the capital, we were definitely very far away, but I still felt something very bad was going to happen. You know? Women's intuition? Most of the time it's spot on, since men walked the earth, women always had this sixth sense, much more than men. We were on the truck for a long time, most of the time Randal was driving. On other occasion's when Randal needed to catch a nap, he'd sit at the back with us and a 'hired' driver would drive. And why couldn't we just use a hired driver all the way you ask? I was against that and so was Josh.
Neal sat at a corner sleeping, Lyzerg took a whole bench as he laid down to sleep. I found it hard to sleep however. I kept waking up, a terrible thing was about to happen, I couldn't shake off the feeling. The truck came to a complete stop. "We've finally reached." Josh told us. "Our other headquarters." Randal grunted as he opened the back door. Bright light flooded the darkness that we always saw in the back. Lyzerg and Neal were forcibly awakened from their sleep because of the extremely bright light.
We all stepped out of the truck, we were in a totally different city. "This, is the Sahara city. Used to be just deserts on and on. But having found a water source, its now practically 'live-able' here." Josh told us as he led us a huge dome shaped stone building. I looked around, everyone seemed to be happy, some soldiers walking around, but overall no discrimination, no tight security, no secrets.
We entered the dome and after a bit of walking and climbing, we finally reached what seemed to be the chief's room. "Welcome, team from the capital. It seems that you are rather small though... Your team that is." A young man with a real gruff voice greeted us. He had scars on his face and his red hair was totally ruffed up. Unkempt. That was the first thing that came to my mind.
"I would like you all to be honest. Because the ground you're standing on is our Sahara city." As he said that, infantrymen on his left and right bowed their heads for a moment to respect their land. "...and in our Sahara team, we keep no secrets. As you're my guests, I'll start first." He began as he cleared his throat.
"My powers are the ability to manipulate any form of liquid. I'm definitely at 'High B' class in terms of rating of powers according to scientists rates. I'm proud to say that. My name is Vaskarth, chief of the Sahara rebellion team. So I guess you should all know what you should do now?" He said gruffly.
"I'm Lyzerg Ezzabell! I copy people's powers for a certain time, I don't know what are the true extents of my powers though, I'm not really proud at how well I can control my ability, so I'd say a 'D' class?"
"Neal. Mind manipulation. I'm proud to say that I'd be at best 'Middle C' Class." Neal said as he smiled.
"Randal. Fire. 'B' class."
Then it was my turn. I had no clue how to answer him. "Uhh-uhh, Eliza. I make objects fly I guess? Class? I-I-I'm not sure about that..." I was totally nervous! But then Josh started talking immediately after I was at a loss for words.
"Josh. No powers. I'm just really strong so you can't rate me. For Eliza, she has potential, so I'd say ''D' or 'E' class." Josh smiled, a big smile.
"So...Eliza huh? You're the weakest link. You gotta go through more training." Vaskarth said. I thought Josh was going to help me, but he didn't. In fact I think he had insulted me! I was so mad at Josh. "To enlighten you girl. The classes start from 'F' then it becomes 'E', 'D', 'C', 'B', 'A'. It's quite a stupid ranking system but it does help in gauging people's abilities. So apparently from what your captain says, you are near the bottom. But be glad, at least you're not at the failure level." He smirked.
Life here wasn't going to be enjoyable as I expected it to be. This couldn't be the terrible thing I sensed about right?
